Found Objects as Art - Come Join Our First Makers Space Time at the Lake - on June 24th @5:30pm

Please - RSVP - minimum of 6 kids/youth/adults to sign up

Are you young, old, or somewhere in between? Do you see the world in images or are you curious about dipping a toe into art? Are you one of those natural “collectors” of the broken, twisted, and the seemingly incongruous items? Are you like Michelangelo who saw angels and animals that need brought out of raw materials? If so, I can help you to create art from your refuse.

Please bring many of your items to create a piece focused on theme, composition, color, line, shape, form, and texture. (Even using the same color can unify items.) If you would like to hang your finished work, plz bring some frames or boxes from which we can choose.

Where? - Craig and Whitney's - 1818 210th Ave E, Lake Tapps, WA 98391

Here is Kathy's bio:

Dr. Kathy Bussert-Webb’s found-object, hand-made assemblages focus on inner healing, nature, and gender. Although her eco-practice explores how we heal from nature using what mother earth provides, she includes humor in titles and pieces. This inquisitive material researcher published a 2026 report in an EU repository to share her innovations, including dried scoby (the filmy mass that ferments tea into kombucha) as a sculptural medium that she sewed. She won awards in U.S. juried shows and had six solo shows (including in Canada, March 2026). She participated in nine art residencies including in Spain, Costa Rica, and Canada. Her art and writing are featured in international magazines, journals, and books, including 101 Artbook, Nature Edition. Her art is in private and public collections. Kathy, a Seattle-based artist, is a member of Gallery 110, Equinox Studios, and the Puget Sound Group of Northwest Artists. Kathy received her MFA in 2022; she is Professor Emerita in literacy.
