From the Vicar: Summer Schedule
Dear One’s of St. C’s,
As many of you are aware I went down in hours in 2024 from full time to 32 hours a week because of our budget shortfall. As you can imagine, it has been difficult for me to fit all of my work in these 32 hours. So I decided, in conversation with our Bishop’s Committee, that I would plan to work less this summer. I will aim to work 20 hours a week this summer to make up for all the weeks I actually worked full time this spring.
I have been working very hard to make sure that our summer at St. C’s is full of connection and depth, even with my shortened hours. I have many lovely preachers set up, Vibh will be leading two classes on disgust, and there are many gatherings that are happening that are lead by others in our community. I am incredibly encouraged by this. This is a wonderful sign of vitality and growth!! Check out all of our happenings here.
I am so proud of this community and I find myself so fortunate to be at a church where so many care about me and want to make sure that I am being fairly compensated for the work that I am doing. I have heard this time and again, especially when we first made the incredibly difficult decisions to cut my hours.
For the month of July and August I will plan to be at church on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. My Tuesdays will be mostly filled with meeting with our staff and Wednesdays I will be available to meet at the church or on zoom with parishioners as needed. I am available for pastoral emergencies, as always, on other days of the week. I will plan for Monday and Thursday-Saturday to be my days off in July and August.
I also wanted to add that we are half through the year and our finances are looking strong. There are always a lot of unknowns with the budget throughout the year and people give at different times, but I am definitely encouraged and hopeful in the moment.
I am looking forward to a fun summer of learning, growth and play. I hope you come along and join in!
with gratitude,
Meghan
