Two Feminism Class Offerings

For 2025 St. Columba's received a grant through the diocese from the College of Congregational Development to offer Two Feminism Classes (at no cost to St. C's) by Dr. George and then go deeper - asking what's next?  How do we put our learnings into practice?

These two classes are split by the gender binary as we dismantle together how this binary has harmed everyone.  If you identify as trans or non-binary it would be most helpful to take the class that explores the gender you have been most socialized to be, but you are welcome in either group.  We all need healing from this categories to figure out how we are going to live together.

The class for those who identify as women is based off of the book Caliban and the Witch by Silvia Federici.  The class will meet 8 times and you will listen to 15 (30min) lectures.  Carmen Olfert will be facilitating this time.  There are 6 spots available, so please let me know if you are interested.  Caveat - you do not need to commit to the class until after the initial session.  Once we get the group together we will figure out when we will meet, how often, if it will be in-person or on zoom. Please, let me know if you are interested and I will start a list!

The class for those who identify as men is called, "Feminism for Men".  Learn theory and practices for men engaging a transformative, healing feminist journey.  Facilitator is TBA.  Depending on if we have one or two facilitators will impact the cap of this class, but I will start the cap at 6.  Once we get the group together we will figure out when we will meet, how often, if it will be in-person or on zoom.  Please, let me know if you are interested and I will start a list!
